Show Preview - 24.01.2010

OK then, new time, same old show.

And on offer this week I've got some lively offerings from
The Kyoto Jazz Massive, Louie Vega, and Tortured Soul, as well
as a bit of chilled jazz by Anita Wardell, and "fuzzy felt folk"
by Basil Kirchin.

January's Album Profile continues with two more tracks
from Mario Biondi's "If".

And we head back to 1977 in the Silver Soul Plus Ten
with tunes from Earth Wind and Fire, and The Ripple.

That's 6-8pm, CSR 97.4 or at csrfm.com where
the colourful stuff continues.

Show Preview 10.01.10

This week things go back to normal, and regular features make a return
including the Kickback Track, and The Wordless Wonder to name a few.

There's also a brand new album being profiled for January, that being
the recent release from Italian jazz performer Mario Biondi and "If".

A slightly more chilled set of tunes this week in places including Lemon Jelly,
The Floaters, and some superb mid 80s Spyro Gyra when they were at their best.

As well as the latest offering from Roisin Murphy making good use
of orchestra hits throught.

And there's a brand new feature to the show called "Silver Soul", where
each week I shall be playing two of the best soulful tracks from a chosen year
working my way up from 1985 (when I was born) all the way up to 2010.

But there's a twist to the item, and all will be revealed on the show this Sunday!

Listen in from 8pm.

A Premature Break?

No I haven't lost my Christmas spirit.

But the security guards at the UKC campus have, deciding to lock the building up where CSR is based, for the next two Sundays.

Pre-recording would be an option but I've no idea when the studios are free to do so due to the busyness of it all, and the struggle it takes me to travel from my house far away from the hill where it all happens.

So with that in mind the show that went out last Sunday was the final one of 2009 and I'll hopefully be back on either the 3rd of the 10th of January where I will be jumping on the bandwagon of listing my 20 favourite tunes
of the decade.

However in the Blam Jam manner of things, it will contain different set
of offerings as I'm sure we all want to get away from the crazy hysteria
of what many would describe as not the most defining decade.

But in terms of colourful music, there's been a lot of good stuff, oh yes.

I obviously haven't mentioned what I'll be including as that would give it away
but hopefully the previous two playlists may gave you an idea, without directly lifting any tracks from them.

Hopefully by 2010 I'll be able to talk better than I'm writing now.

Have a really fun Christmas and hopeful New Year.
