November Nights

Hey everyone.

Hope you're making the most of my absence from the airwaves this week,
well, in live form anyway.

Part of the reason is that I'm attending live entertainment of another
form, and to warm you up for Blam Jam's 250th show next Sunday
(8th November), a rundown of the rhythm filled gigs I'll be making
a visit to this month, and maybe you'll be too.

Marcos Valle - Brooklyn Bowl 01.11.15

A long-standing favourite of Blam Jam, and the crowds of Glastonbury this summer,
the Baron of Bossa is back performing his array of Brazilian beats
not too far from the O2 Arena.

Expect to hear old favourites such as "So Nice" and "Estrelar"
as well as more recent gems such as "Parabens".

Oh and his wife Patricia Alvia who joins in on hand percussion
and backing vocals is also worth attending for.

Kamasi Washington - Barbican 14.11.15

A much anticipated gig of the year, LA sax player Kamasi Washington has wowed many with his ambitious debut LP on Brainfeeder records "The Epic"
lasting 3 hours in length on 3 discs.

Many are wondering how much of it he'll manage to fit into his London Jazz Festival set, seeing as he's sharing the bill with the innovative GoGo Penguin,
but that aside an amazing night is promised.

Do give the album a listen too if you haven't already, and you don't even have to hear it all in one go to appreciate it.

Also one of the acts at 2016's Worldwide Awards in January at Koko,
if you can't make this one.

And speaking of Koko...

Andreya Triana - Koko 17.11.15

Recently the saving grace of an episode of TFI Friday
well into its "midlife crisis" phase, A.T. meanwhile is reaching
greater heights in 2015 with her second album "Giants"
filled with memorable and catchy songs.

"Paperwalls" fulfilling the latter with it's unique vocalised beat
and heartfelt songs such as "It's Not Over" getting really deep.

Her set at Koko will be the perfect round off to an amazing year,
and she's also performing in Bristol and Brighton this month.

Get your tickets booked. They will sell out.

Eska - Islington Assembly Hall, 27.11.15

Another much anticipated night, the Mercury nominee has
won praise for her debut blending soul, folk, and electronic
influences together seamlessly.

Like Andreya Triana, Eska has a memorable an unique vocal presence,
has proven herself adaptable and having already
won the crowds of London with her Rich Mix gig earlier this Spring
expect many enjoyable surprises if you're heading down Islington way
this Black Friday.

Any gigs worth attending that haven't been mentioned?

Drop them in the comments, and Blam Jam will return on November 8th
for Show 250 and an album openers special!
